The solution

Case conferences bring multidisciplinary care to every patient

A case conference is a multidisciplinary meeting between a patient's GP and one or more specialists — coordinating care for patients with complex or chronic conditions.

Unlike standard correspondence, case conferencing enables real-time dialogue — shared decision-making and cohesive treatment, without requiring the patient to attend or be referred externally.

The goal: ensure every aspect of a patient's health is addressed in a coordinated way — improving continuity of care and reducing system strain.

Questions

Specialist frequently asked questions

Is Conference.care free for specialists?

Yes — completely free, with no fees. You claim the Medicare rebate as usual; we never take a cut.

How do I bill a case conference?

After your conference, Conference.care prompts the correct MBS item number — whether you organised or participated — and you submit the claim through your usual channels, exactly as you would any other rebated service.

Does Conference.care store my patient data?

Clinical information is shared verbally or via screen-share during the conference. Calls aren't recorded or transcribed, so that information isn't saved.

Are there GPs and clinicians in my area?

We have clinicians across every Australian state and territory, including hospital-based specialists. If your area has fewer, our team reaches out to local clinicians when you sign up.

Can I choose which clinicians take part?

Yes — for a conference you convene, the composition is your call. Usually we put a team together to suit the patient; if you want particular colleagues, including someone not yet on Conference.care, tell us and we'll arrange it.

Can I take part as a hospital-based clinician?

Yes. Our network includes hospital-based specialists, and you can join securely from anywhere.

Does it integrate with my practice software?

Conference.care integrates with the major Australian specialist PMS, including Genie and Gentu, so records flow between your system and your conference team.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Conference.care runs in any web browser — and for practices not already set up for telehealth, we can provide a ready-to-use iPad.
